Rust (noun)

A reddish-brown substance that forms on the surface of iron and steel as a result of reacting with air and water.

These rust extracts belonging to a disused cable-car in Italy show how abandoned facilities interact with the environment through time and the impact of man made developments in the land. Left on their own, the materials that compose them begin to leave otherwise while degrading. An unsuspected beauty arises, with surprising hues, shades and textures.
